Privacy under the Swiss DSG
Privacy, stated plainly.
This notice describes which personal data we process, why, and what rights you have. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (DSG) and, where applicable, the GDPR.

What data we process
Via the forms: name, email, phone, preferred language, travel direction, travel month, number of guests, cabin and price preferences, departure station, dietary and accessibility information, interest in the ship's casino and your message. When you visit the site: technical access data (IP address, browser, time) in server logs.
Why
To answer your request, prepare a quote and – if you book – book the voyage with the cruise line. Accessibility and dietary information is sensitive data; we process it only to arrange a suitable cabin and meals, and only with your consent given by providing it in the form.
Who we share data with
The cruise line or tour operator you book with, rail and air carriers for travel to the port, our IT providers (hosting, email) and the customer money protection scheme. No data is passed to casino operators. Data may be transferred abroad (EU/EEA; for cruise lines based outside the EU on the basis of statutory safeguards).
Cookies, measurement and advertising
Essential cookies and local storage are used for language choice, cookie settings and form security. Only with your consent via the cookie banner do we use Google Ads conversion tracking and Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.). We use Google Consent Mode; without consent no advertising cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time via the 'Cookie settings' link in the footer.
Retention
Requests without a booking are deleted after 12 months. Booking records are kept in line with statutory retention duties (10 years).
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. You may withdraw consent at any time. Contact datenschutz@velaalpina.com. Complaints may be addressed to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
No gambling on this website
This website offers no gambling and processes no stakes, gaming accounts or winnings. We collect no data about your gambling behaviour.
